Eighteenth Century Window Sash Restoration

New London
Connecticut

We built historic window sash for the historic Nathan Hale Schoolhouse, including windows to go in the “new” gambrel dormers. The “new” work was really the restoration of original historic features based on a reading of the building itself. The building had been moved six times, had undergone multiple uses and had even suffered a fire. All these changes were amply documented in the work itself, in that original parts from the changes were reused as an expression of Yankee frugality.
