1904 Diamond Window Sash Restoration and Paint Removal

Greenwich
Connecticut

These three part double hung diamond pattern window sash were to be completely restored and deleaded. The paint removal had to be very clean and cosmetic as the wood was to receive a stain finish, this time, and not paint. This required complete dismantling of the wood window sash, in order to get at all the surfaces. Such a process inevitably causes some breakage of the original glazing, which was replaced with authentic, period wavy glass, salvaged and stockpiled by Stephen C. Marshall, LLC, “The Historic House Guy”. (Project located in Greenwich, Connecticut.)
